The most surprising thing about being a first-time mom is how much you can love someone! You know you’re going to love your baby but the depth of that truly is really overwhelming.
My expectation vs. experience breastfeeding was I don’t know that I had an expectation per se but I was not prepared for how difficult it would be initially. We spend so much time preparing for labor and delivery but not breastfeeding. Also, I thought I was hungry when I was pregnant! Pregnancy hunger does not compare to breastfeeding hunger - ha!
The best piece of advice about motherhood is grace. Give yourself so much of it for every moment of every day.
