The most surprising thing about being a first-time mom is how hard breastfeeding is! Even as a very prepared mom with a great community, breastfeeding was easily the hardest thing I've ever done. Which is why I founded Momful after discovering that focusing on my nutrition was key to unlocking to my breastfeeding success.
My expectation vs. experience breastfeeding was I expected it to be hard. My experience was that it was unbelievably hard.
The best piece of advice about motherhood is take every day as a new day, give yourself grace, and take time to appreciate the small wins that, over time, become big accomplishments.
