The most surprising thing about being a first-time mom is how many things I now do one-handed now. The multitasking is real!
My expectation vs. experience breastfeeding was that it would be a challenging and rewarding, if at all possible. My experience of breastfeeding is that while it has made many sweet moments of bonding with my daughter, I’m also constantly leaking into my shirts and nursing pads (the laundry has reached new levels at our house). My back and shoulders feel the strain of supporting my babe.
The best piece of advice about motherhood is savor those skin-to-skin snuggles. They’re magic.
