Updated: May 11, 2021

First name: Missy Gallow

Age: 33

Number of kids and ages: Two 3.5 year old twin girls

Location: Columbus, Ohio

The most surprising thing about being a first-time mom is how you are a "new mom" at every age. I'm a first-time "threenager" mom! Surprisingly or not, motherhood is the hardest job a woman can have.

My expectation vs. experience breastfeeding was I expected it to come more naturally and not be painful or too challenging. I was undereducated and lacked postpartum support.

The best piece of advice about motherhood is give yourself some grace, try to be present in the moment, educate yourself, and don't be afraid to ask for help. Avoid comparison and listen to your intuition!

Missy Gallow, DPT, is a pelvic health physical therapist based in Columbus, OH. While pregnant and then newly postpartum with twins, she developed a passion for bridging the gap between pelvic health and the world of orthopedics for women in their child bearing years. Missy's hope is that every woman will have the resources they need early on to avoid chronic pain and return the the activities and fitness they love throughout their postpartum years. "Once you're postpartum, you're always postpartum."

You can read more about Missy's story here. She created "The Naptime Project" postpartum core guide available free for download here. Missy offers both in-person and telehealth appointments.

Missy will be answering questions on Lunnie's Instagram live on April 29th at 8 pm ET/5 pm ET.
